UFI Open Seminar in Asia 2015

In 2015, the 90th annual UFI Open Seminar returned to Hong Kong to celebrate its 10th anniversary since expanding in Asia. UFI reunites the world’s leading tradeshow organizers and fairground owners in Asia’s central business district, where its recognition as a convention and exhibition destination continues to grow.

Hong Kong, with its easy and convenient accessibility from all over the world, offers its mature business environment and proves to be an ideal location for MICE, and consumer and lifestyle conventions alike. Providing efficient and professional support, local organizations supported UFI in running a smooth and successful exhibition, attracting associations from both east and west.

Hong Kong is such an international city, and has a very important exhibition industry. It is very accessible, and of course very easy for people to get in and out of Hong Kong, not just from around Asia, but from all over the world. It is a very efficient way to do business, as there are all the facilities here that we would want to do a high quality international conference.”

Paul Woodward Managing Director, UFI (France)

Hong Kong is the third largest exhibition market in Asia, which is really remarkable. It is a professional city with very strong infrastructure and destination appeal, plus great local partners for exhibitors, such as HKTB and MEHK. Exhibitions and conferences are about trade, so we need to get goods in and out of the city easily and efficiently, why is why the industry has built up so strong. Immigration and customs has to be smooth and easy for delegates coming in, plus on-ground transportation, the hotel and the venue infrastructure. Hong Kong is among the best, not just in Asia, but among the best anywhere in the world.”

Mark Cochrane Regional Manager, UFI Asia Pacific Office (Hong Kong)
