CHUNG YING THEATRE COMPANY

Under the leadership of artistic director Ko Tin-lung, Chung Ying Theatre Company strives to connect people with drama. It is dedicated to producing excellent and energetic productions in an effort to promote theatre arts, cultural exchanges as well as enrich the local cultural life. Started in 1979, it has staged more than 170 performances and secured over 100 nominations and 60 awards in the past fifteen Hong Kong Drama Award Ceremonies.

CITY CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY

Founded by Willy Tsao in 1979, City Contemporary Dance Company is a Hong Kong-based professional modern dance troupe that seeks to rally the best Chinese talents to create dance in the context of contemporary and modern China. Every year, the company reaches a global audience of more than 100,000 people with its distinctive style and diverse array of dance performances.

THE HONG KONG BALLET

The Hong Kong Ballet, founded in 1979, is one of the leading professional classical ballet companies in Asia. The Company is a vibrant dance institution with accomplished dancers, a strong repertoire, sparkling productions and an original identity. Since 1997, The Hong Kong Ballet has emerged as an effective international ambassador for Hong Kong, making more than 16 international tours to 10 countries and receiving plaudits wherever they have performed.

HONG KONG CHINESE ORCHESTRA

Founded in 1977, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra is the only 85-musician professional Chinese orchestra in Hong Kong. It has a repertoire that includes both traditional Chinese music and contemporary works. They are a unique contribution to Hong Kong's musical scene and serve as cultural ambassadors wherever they perform.

HONG KONG DANCE COMPANY

With its mandate to promote Chinese dance, the Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDC) has staged more than 100 productions over the past two decades and won many accolades for their efforts. The HKDC was established by the Urban Council in 1981 and formally incorporated in April 2001 as a charitable and non-profit-making institution. The HKDC is now financially supported by the SAR Government.

HONG KONG PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO), with internationally renowned Edo de Waart as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, is one of Asia's leading orchestras. Enriching Hong Kong's cultural life for over a century, the Orchestra has grown into a formidable ensemble of Chinese and international talents in the last three decades, attracting world-class artists to perform on the same stage.

HONG KONG REPERTORY THEATRE

The Hong Kong Repertory Theatre is the largest professional theatre company of its kind in Hong Kong, producing a diverse repertoire of Chinese and overseas classics as well as helping to develop quality local works that are both creative and original. It was established in 1977 and incorporated in 2001 as an independent company.

HONG KONG SINFONIETTA

The Hong Kong Sinfonietta is one of Hong Kong’s flagship professional orchestras, renowned for its innovative programming and has achieved significant recognition on the local and international stage for its passionate and energetic performances. Together with Music Director Yip Wing-sie, the orchestra has collaborated with an illustrious array of international musicians, including Pinchas Zukerman, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti, and has been a regular guest at important festivals at home and abroad.

OPERA HONG KONG

Established in July 2003 by internationally acclaimed Hong Kong tenor Warren Mok and a group of opera lovers, Opera Hong Kong aims to enhance the appreciation of opera and promote local musical talent. In addition to staging operas and concerts, it offers educational programmes to reach younger audiences. The Opera Hong Kong Chorus was established in 2004.

SPRING-TIME GROUP

A leading independent theatrical producer, the Spring-Time Group is a fully-fledged entertainment company engaged in all aspects of the local entertainment industry. Founded in 1995 by leading celebrity director, Ko Chi Sum, award-winning playwright To Kwok Wai, and multi-talented theatre veteran Koo Tin Lung, the Group has grown rapidly and today represents a multi-faceted production house involved in theatre, film and television productions.

PIP THEATRE

PIP Theatre is led by its Artistic Directors Jim Chim and Olivia Yan. The company draws its inspiration from everyday life and translates that into its hallmark style of "humour" and "satire". The company mirrors the pulse of urban Hong Kong and their productions resonate with the emotion of the city's residents. PIP has an impressive track record based on 15 years of outstanding achievement and will continue its artistic pursuits in the future.

ZUNI ICOSAHEDRON

Zuni Icosahedron, founded in 1982, is a Hong Kong-based international experimental theatre company. Zuni produces excellent original productions of alternative theatre and multimedia performances, and has been active in video, sound experimentation and installation arts, as well as in the area of arts education, arts policy research and international cultural exchange. Over the years, Zuni has been invited to more than 30 cities for exchange performances.
