Chinese New Year Night Parade

A Giant Harbour-front Street Party
The world-famous night parade is one of the best-loved events of all the Chinese New Year's celebrations in Hong Kong. Now in its 17th year, and sponsored by Cathay Pacific for the 14th consecutive year, the parade snakes around Tsim Sha Tsui in a stream of brightly coloured floats and international/ local performing artists that turns the harbour-front area into a giant street party. Starting at 6pm, there will be roving performers and interactive games to warm-up the crowds along the parade route.


Parade Route:
The parade starts at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and proceeds along Canton Road, Haiphong Road, Nathan Road and Salisbury Road, and ends in front of Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers.
Time:
8pm - 9:30 pm; spectator stands open to ticket holders at 7pm.
Admission:
HK$350 / $300 / $220 / $180 per person for seating in the spectator stands at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, Canton Road and Nathan Road; free viewing along the parade route; you can also join a tour taking you to some of Hong Kong's exciting attractions in the daytime and enjoy the parade from reserved grandstand seats in the evening. Starting the Year with a Bang

Thousands will line both sides of iconic Victoria Harbour on the Second Day of Chinese New Year to witness Hong Kong ushering in the Year of the Dragon with an astounding fireworks display. Join them and start the Year of the Dragon with a heart-stopping bang.
Venue: Victoria Harbour between Central and Tsim Sha Tsui

Chinese New Year Race Day (25 January 2012)

A Hong Kong Tradition

A uniquely Hong Kong tradition, this day at the races is held on the Third Day of the Chinese New Year, when local sports fans head to Sha Tin Racecourse, hoping to kick off the New Year with a winner.

Time: Admission from 10:30am;
first race begins at 12:30pm
Venue: Sha Tin Racecourse, New Territories
Admission: HK$100 for Tourist Badge
(with presentation of valid travel documents) with admission to the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Members’ Enclosure
