What to See and What to Do

Topping your list of must-dos during the Hong Kong Cultural Celebrations (13 – 29 April) is a visit to the island of Cheung Chau where residents celebrate their Bun Festival (25 – 29 April) with huge towers of buns and a parade of costumed children who float above the heads of the cheering crowd. On 28 April, you can participate in a bathing ritual during birthday celebrations for the Buddha on Lantau Island. Or, join local fishermen as they celebrate the birthday of popular deity, Tam Kung. On 13 April, you can make a pilgrimage to a local temple with fishermen to celebrate the birthday of Tin Hau, patron saint of fishermen.

The Hong Kong Sevens 2012

The rugby nation is coming to town for three exhilarating days of top-notch seven-a-side rugby at Hong Kong Stadium from 23 to 25 March. On the field, the titans of the game lock horns in attempt to wrest the Cup, the Plate, the Bowl and the Shield. In the stands, it's one non-stop party as the rugby fraternity sing, dance and drink in celebration of this utterly unique game that was established in Hong Kong in 1976. It is an experience you'll never forget!
