Business Events Momentum

Full House and Strong Line-up of Events Reaffirm Hong Kong’s Appeal

Events are returning to Hong Kong in hordes over the past few months. Signature events are attracting high turnout. New conventions are secured. Flagship exhibitions are growing while meetings and incentive trips are rolling in.

In the past months, Hong Kong has been welcoming the return of meeting and incentive groups from mainland China and overseas. One of which is the largest-ever incentive group of over 200 guests of Thailand’s beauty direct-selling brand Wink White. In just February and March, the city received over 120 incentive groups from across Asia.

Despite the pandemic, Hong Kong continued to secure over 30 major B2B conventions and trade exhibitions covering multiple sectors, from aviation to innovative technology and medical sciences. One of the most notable is RISE, an influential tech event that will take place in Hong Kong for five consecutive years starting in 2024. The flagship annual Asia Conference of Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) has just confirmed to return to Hong Kong in August 2023 after seven years, bringing together students, young professionals and industry leaders to discuss some of the most pressing economic, social and political issues in the region.

The local exhibition scene is also packed with excitement too. The jewellery shows organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council delivered robust results with over 60,000 buyers and over 2,500 exhibitors, indicating strong pent-up demand for trade fairs.

Some global trade shows have also announced their return to Hong Kong this year. Among them are four of the world’s leading flagship trade shows – Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA), Cosmoprof Asia and premier fresh produce fair ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA.

The list keeps growing, reaffirming that Hong Kong will give the global MICE Industry strong impetus to surge to new heights.
