Hong Kong. Where Aviation Events Take Off

With new world-class infrastructure and excellent global air connectivity, Hong Kong is turbo-charging its ascent as the nexus of global air travel. Hong Kong reinforces its position as Asia's premier aviation hub with recent third-runway upgrade and the just expanded Terminal 2 at Hong Kong International Airport. The latter commenced operations in phases in September and provides passenger services for both arrivals and departures.

Beyond world-class infrastructure development, Hong Kong continues to be the destination of choice for event organisers looking to expand their global footprint, given the city’s proven track record in hosting a wide spectrum of aviation events, from aerospace to terminal and cargo. Check out this industry story to learn more about how aviation events take off in Hong Kong.

This year, Hong Kong flies high with 4 landmark aviation events, starting off with Routes World 2025, the aviation summit that facilitates critical route development meetings among global aviation leaders. Hong Kong shall host more aviation events this fall: the IATA World Sustainability Symposium (21-22 October) will convene global leaders to accelerate aviation's net-zero transition, while Super Terminal Expo (4-6 November) drives discussions on passenger and cargo terminal excellence; and Airspace Asia Pacific (9-11 December) debuts as the region's premier forum for air traffic innovation. These events cement Hong Kong's role as the crucible where aviation's future takes shape.

The HKTB curated exclusive experiences for a group of Muslim participants, including an exclusive dinner at Chinesology, the city's first high-end halal-certified Cantonese restaurant.

President of Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation Datuk Dr Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman praised the "exquisite taste" of Cantonese dishes and applauded Hong Kong's growing Muslim-friendly infrastructure for transforming business travel for Muslim executives. Moreover, Mr Aminuddin Bin Zulkipli, Chairman of The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority, also observed that Muslim travellers are more assured if they know a destination offers them halal food given that “leaving home is about where to find your food”.

Beyond culinary innovation, HKTB partnered with 8 hotels with halal-friendly ratings by CrescentRating to offer exclusive packages. The participants also enjoyed Victoria Harbour junk boat rides and tours – proving Hong Kong’s unique integrated offers blend cultural sensitivity with world-class MICE offerings.
