Vinexpo Hong Kong 2018

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Vinexpo. Since its inception in 1998, the premier wine and spirits event has become one of the most influential trade exhibitions in Asia-Pacific. Vinexpo Hong Kong 2018 saw a significant surge from Mainland China, up 10% compared to 2016. The event internationally recognised for the quality of its exhibitors. In total, exhibitors increased to an unprecedented over 1,400 representing 30 countries.

Hong Kong was the first duty-free wine port among major economies when all wine duties were removed in 2008, and since then the city has maintained its position as one of the largest wine auction centres in the world. What better place is there to meet than in Hong Kong, where business opportunities rival the city’s excellent MICE offerings? Highlights of this event include Alibaba’s Tmall’s Future Bar concept and Australia, the fifth largest wine-producing country in the world, which took the spotlight as Country of Honour at Vinexpo Hong Kong 2018.

Hong Kong Tourism Board, as a long-term event partner, specially built a Hong Kong Tea House booth for all visitors attending the event to taste some of the city’s traditional treats, including egg tarts and milk tea to savour some of the most popular local snacks and to discover some of the diverse authentic experiences Hong Kong has to offer.

“20 years ago we made the right decision in coming to Hong Kong as it’s the gateway to China and Asia. We’ve been very happy with the support from the Hong Kong Tourism Board for many years, since the very beginning. This year is another step forward — for this 20th anniversary edition, we built this Tea House for the first time, to give it a Hong Kong touch and to make our visitors understand that the link between Vinexpo and Hong Kong is very strong and we hope that it will last for many editions ahead.”
