The mostly paved and flat trail used to be the main passage for residents travelling between Tung Chung and Tai O in the old days. However, it is a rather long four-hour hike. If you are short on time, take the Tung Chung-Tai O ferry and disembark mid-way at Sha Lo Wan Pier.

From there, you can begin the hike which follows the coast and offers views of the borderless sea and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridges. Along the path, you will pass small villages, as well as a small eatery and store where you can stock up on snacks and drinks. Take a glimpse of the old settlements and take in the gorgeous coastal scenery on this trail.
