YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel
Like no other hostels, this is a place where the old meets the new. As the city’s last six-storey H-shaped resettlement block, the young and vibrant YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel is converted from a listed Grade 2 Historic Building and revitalized to provide 129 rooms. Apart from double rooms, family rooms and dormitory beds, extraordinary themed rooms with nostalgic décor of the 1970s Hong Kong are also available for guests to have a real taste of the local culture! The hostel offers free breakfast, 24-hour reception, free Wi-Fi, self-catering kitchen and laundry and more. It is situated in the city center and it takes just a 10-minute walk to the metro station, allowing guests to reach numerous tourist spots conveniently. Car parks are also easily found in the nearby Shek Kip Mei Estate. Meanwhile, as the hostel strives to promote Hong Kong heritage to global travelers and local residents, the museum inside the hostel, Heritage of Mei Ho House, showcases the lifestyle of public housing residents in 1950s to 1970s. Hostel guests will be sure to meet other hostellers in the common areas where they can exchange cultures and travel experiences. For group visitors, their function room is an ideal venue for seminars, meetings, small-scale cocktail receptions and exhibitions. Room rates are set at a level affordable for backpackers and budgeted travelers. Group members can even enjoy special accommodation discounts.
