Hong Kong hosted the prestigious International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) World Congress 2024 from June 6-9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The biennial event is the world's largest gathering of medical radiation professionals, attracting over 1,000 radiography and radiation therapy professionals. Under the theme of "Personalized Care in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy", this year's congress was co-organized by the Hong Kong Association of Radiation Therapists (HKART), Hong Kong Radiographers' Association (HKRA), and the Hong Kong College of Radiographers and Radiation Therapists (HKCRRT).

The four-day congress featured an ISRRT regional meeting, pre-congress workshops, a two-day conference, and a gala dinner, creating the occasion for participants to network, attend educational sessions, and learn about the latest advancements in medical imaging and radiation therapy.

In a remarkable display of agility and responsiveness, when the hosting rights for ISRRT 2024 became surfaced in May 2023, the HKRA, HKCRRT, and HKART quickly collaborated to submit a bid to the organisation of event, with the support of Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) of the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) in securing the HKCEC venue. This rapid and coordinated effort showcased Hong Kong's exceptional can-do attitude and its ability to effectively capitalize on emerging opportunities.
