Milken Institute Global Investors' Symposium

US-based non-profit think tank Milken Institute picked Hong Kong for its inaugural Global Investors' Symposium, leveraging the city’s advantages as one of the most important financial markets in Asia and a dynamic and charming city.

The symposium, held on 26 March 2024 at The Regent Hong Kong, was the first large-scale summit that the Institute held in Hong Kong since 1998. Under the thought-provoking theme of "Thriving Together: Bridging Global Markets", the symposium converged over 500 participants, notably CEOs, CIOs, policymakers, business and investment leaders from a wide range of sectors, to discuss how to tackle the most pressing global challenges.

More than 150 conversations and panel discussion were featured, encompassing wide-ranging topics such as disruptive technology, geoeconomics, climate change, biomedical innovation, artificial intelligence, corporate philanthropy, healthcare policy, impact investing and more.

The symposium strengthened exchanges and interaction among local, Mainland and international delegates, fully reflecting Hong Kong's role as a "super-connector" and "super value-adder".

Hong Kong remains the gateway to China and Asia's largest financial market. It's the perfect place to bring investors together. We're able to bring together a lot of Chinese leaders, be it CIOs and CEOs, and have frank conversations about trends and industry insights.

Milken Institute feels it should play a useful part in forging conversation and dialogue between international investors and Chinese entrepreneurs and Chinese consumers. I don't think there's a better place to do so than in Hong Kong. We have assembled the best panel of veteran investors, entrepreneurs, as well as capital owners from Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and around the world.

The Milken Institute event is really in line with what Hong Kong is all about. The connecting and the convening that takes place at Milken Institute is also here in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is absolutely the ideal city for advancing so many conversations, whether it's about philanthropy, finance or arts and culture.
