The 4th Technology for Change Asia
The Economist Impact has picked Hong Kong as the strategic location to stage its flagship annual event, Technology for Change Asia, for three years. The first edition held in Hong Kong has concluded on a high note.
Being one of the A-list conventions supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) and the government, Technology for Change Asia focuses on exploring the latest innovations in artificial intelligence, Web3, DeFi and crypto, and the role of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) in applying technology for impact.
The 4th edition of the event, held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 27-28 February 2024, brought together over 450 government officials, technology chiefs, innovators, investors, scientists and senior business representatives. Keynote speakers included Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia, and Michio Kaku, a renowned physicist and science writer.
Robust discussions were mixed with networking, business and enjoyment, highlighting Hong Kong's position as a hub for technology and innovation. Ahead of their busy schedules, the HKTB invited Wales, Kaku and other summit guests to cruise on the iconic Aqua Luna, taking in the city's renowned harbour views at night.
