The 9th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery

The world’s largest gathering of paediatric cardiology and congenital cardiac care, often referred as the "Olympics of the Profession", made its successful Asia debut in Hong Kong on 7 – 12 Dec 2025. The 9th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery (WCPCCS) gathered some 3,000 international experts and innovators to pool insights with local specialists at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Under the theme “Embracing with All Our Hearts & Forward with Patients”, the assembled surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensive care physicians, nurses, patients and patient advocates dived into an elaborate programme that spanned the full spectrum of paediatric cardiology care – from clinical to basic subjects, common to rare conditions, disease to health, humanitarian programmes to human footprint, scientific studies of surgery, cardiology, anesthesia and critical care, to innovation in artificial intelligence and advanced imaging.

With Hong Kong Convention Ambassador and Congress Chairman Prof. Cheung Yiu Fai playing an instrumental role in bringing the event to Hong Kong, WCPCCS successfully leveraged the city’s proven strategic role as an ideal destination for world-class medical conventions, well placed to stimulate high-level conversations on making life better for patients and their families, foster collaboration and exchanges, and inspire new ideas, while delivering an exceptional destination experience with the city’s diverse offerings.

With 3,000 international experts and innovators pooling insights with local specialists, the 9th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery (WCPCCS) covered the full spectrum of paediatric cardiology care topics, advancing the cardiac care of children in developed and developing countries.

The World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery is held every four years. It's the largest gathering of healthcare professionals and individuals dedicated to paediatric and congenital cardiac care. Hong Kong is known for scientific expertise, medical expertise, paediatric cardiac expertise and international leadership in patient care, research, teaching and advocacy for patients. We're coming to a global cosmopolitan city that also has wonderful food, culture and architecture. The chance to do all of this on top of having great science makes this a perfect trip.
Prof. Jeffrey Jacobs
Steering Committee Chair
WCPCCS 2025
I have great expectations of this World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery being held for the first time in Hong Kong, China. We attracted experts worldwide, from North America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Chinese Mainland, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Australia and more, using all our efforts to advance the cardiac care of children from all parts of the world, not only in developed countries, but even more importantly, in developing countries. Hong Kong enjoys an excellent medical standing as evidenced by the lowest infant mortality and longest living people. This attests to the high medical standard that's been offered by both the public and the private healthcare systems. I would like to thank the Hong Kong Tourism Board very much for its extremely strong support, the advice and the expertise.
